Meet Pastor Matt Steendahl
Pastor Matt Steendahl was born in Seattle in 1976 and raised in Wanapum Village and Royal City in Eastern Washington. Graduated Royal High School in 1994 and began studies at The Lutheran Bible Institute. He married his high school sweetheart, Christine Hanson in 1996. Pastor Matt Steendahl was born in Seattle in 1976 and raised in Wanapum Village and Royal City in Eastern Washington. Graduated Royal High School in 1994 and began studies at The Lutheran Bible Institute. He married his high school sweetheart, Christine Hanson in 1996. They both graduated from LBI in 1998, Matt with a BA in Biblical Studies with an Emphasis in Pre-Seminary and Christine with a BA in Christian Education and an emphasis in counseling. In 1998 they moved to Minnesota for Matt to attend Luther Seminary, then changed seminaries to the Free Lutheran Seminary in Plymouth, MN where he graduated with a Graduate Degree in Theology in 2002. During their time at Seminary, Matt and Christine had two boys, Ryan and Christian. Pastor’s Internship and subsequent first call and ordination (2003) was serving as a youth pastor for Elim Lutheran Church in Lake Stevens WA. He served about three years and added to their family another boy, Dane. From 2006-2015 Matt was the Pastor of St John Evangelical Lutheran Congregation at Schwer, Milford IL. During their time in Illinois, the Steendahl Family grew again with daughter Annika and son Igor. In 2016 the Steendahls came to Brookings, Oregon where Matt continues to serve Trinity Lutheran Church as their Pastor.
